A (short) Thanksgiving Blessing
Even when times feel chaotic, we give thanks.
We give thanks for the opportunity to live in interesting times, and to contribute in our own way.
We give thanks for the emotions we feel, reminding us of the depth of our love and our sorrow.
We give thanks for everything that brought us to this point in time, in this place, with these people, because this is what we have to work with.
We give thanks for the sunshine and the wind, the rain and the clouds, and the food they produce.
We give thanks for our friends and those we haven’t yet befriended.
We give thanks for our suffering and our joys, knowing we can’t have one without the other.
We give thanks for each and every moment no matter what it brings.
We gives thanks for the small things that remind us how much bigger it all is.
We give thanks for the stretches, the nudges, the pushes that give us the chance to go deeper, higher, wider than we have gone before.
We give thanks for those who stand with us. And we give thanks for those who stand against us, strengthening our resolve.
We give thanks for life itself, the becoming that is always becoming, and the blessing of being here, right now, for all of it.
